In ca. 1732 AD, After Alááfín Ojigi dies, a new Alááfín is crowned to rule the Imperial Ọ̀yọ́ Empire . The new monarch turns out to be incompetent and not fit to govern. Alááfín Gbéru could not separate the matters of state from personal and could not administer the affairs of the empire when faced with an external threat. During a memorable night, a young man is killed by marauders during an incursion in Ọ̀yọ́ Ilé which charts and propels his son’s destiny to greatness.
